We give the DeWalt DCD910KX 12v cordless drill a 9.0 overall rating. It has the most power and speed you will find in a 12v cordless with three operating speeds (low: 0-425 RPM, medium: 0-1,200 RPM, and high: 0-1,800 RPM). It also has 22 clutch settings for precise drilling.
This drill uses DeWalt’s XRP NiCD battery technology. While older than Li-Ion, it still provides 2.4 Ah of run time which is above average, while taking about 1 hour to recharge. The biggest downside to it is the weight. The DCD910KX weighs in a 5.3 pounds which is the heaviest in its class, and more than many 18v cordless drills.
Overall this is a well built, durable, heavy duty drill. It has enough power to handle most tasks, while the weight of it is a serious negative, it does not prevent us from recommending this drill.
