*DeWalt has a newer 18v Li-Ion model – the DeWalt DCD980L2.
We rated the DeWalt DCD960KL 18v cordless drill at an 8.4 overall rating. It boasts plenty of power and DeWalt’s solid reputation of making high performance cordless drills which means it can handle a wide range of hole-drilling and screw-driving jobs. The XRP Li-Ion batteries are rated at 2.4Ah, although they do take 60 minutes to recharge which is higher than average.
The main thing that brings the DCD960KL rating down is the price. This is generally the most expensive 18v drill you can buy. It is also a little bit on the heavy side at 5.25 pounds.
We would recommend this drill for professional use, although there are comparable models for less money.
