The Hitachi DS18DVF3 18v cordless drill rates at a 7.5 overall rating. This NiCd model does not excel in any one area, but it is not really lacking in any either as is shown by the 4.1 out of 5 star rating on Amazon. It is reasonably lightweight and well balanced. Its power output is a little bit below average for the 18v class, but it is still reasonable for most any task. The kit also includes a flashlight which may come in handy. All this for a price of just over $100 makes it a very good value buy.
