The Milwaukee 2601-22 18v cordless drill ranks at an 8.1 overall rating. This is Milwaukee’s compact Li-Ion offering at 18 volts. Users on Amazon rate it a 4 out of 5. The overall performance for this compact model is a little bit lower than comparable units by other manufacturers. But what it lacks in that department it makes up for in some nice features. First of all it feels really well balanced in your hand. It includes an LED light that does a better than average job at lighting up your work surface. It also seems to be able to tighten and hold bits in the chuck easier than many other drills. One really good feature is the battery fuel gauge that tells you how much power you have left.
With that said, we don’t feel like it is quite up to par with other brands like Makita’s compact Li-Ion. It is heavier at 4 pounds, has less torque, and is more expensive. But don’t get us wrong, this is still a quality cordless drill.
